The classical opera house was created as a modern centre for concerts and congresses. In 1944, the showcase Wilhelmenian building, which had been bombed down to its foundation walls during World War II, was rebuilt in the original style. On 28 August 1981 the Alte Oper was officially inaugurated. | Today, the Alte Oper is host to a vast range of events such as classical music concerts, ballets, musicals, balls, AGMs to name but a few. An underground station at its door, well-equipped rooms for events and two restaurants integrated into the building, which can be visited outside of concert and conference times as well, enable multifaceted and flexible use. | Object data | - | 38,930 m² gross floor space | - | 3 halls: Grand Hall (2,500 seats) Mozart Hall (700 seats) Hindemith Hall (350 seats) | - | 7 conference rooms, exhibition areas, acoustic chambers, fitting rooms, office and engineering rooms. | - | 2 restaurants | Range of services | Technical facility management | - | operations including maintenance, inspection and repair services for the technical facilities, breakdown repair and round the clock helpline, renovation work when required, documentation of all issues relating to the building, monthly meter readings with evaluation, identification and implementation of energy-optimising measures. | Customer and event-specific special services | - | event technology, sound, light and stage engineering for all areas. | Infrastructural facility management | - | basic cleaning (inside, outside and glass surfaces) and event specific extra cleaning, security service, driver services, mail service, green area maintenance. | | |
